The LEADER in French as a Second Language Learning
RK Publishing was founded by Ruby Kaplan in 2000 with a mission to offer K-12 French-as-a-second-language (FSL) teachers the best possible resources to support engaged learning in their French classes. Today, we are still the only Canadian publisher that specializes uniquely in FSL.
Over the past 20+ years, RK Publishing has evolved from developing rich French books for core and immersion FSL, to creating comprehensive hybrid (print and online) programs for K-12 core French, and online & print classroom libraries for French immersion, and extended French. All of our resources are foundationally connected to the CEFR (Common European Framework for Languages), so teachers are given a roadmap for teaching French in a manner that is internationally recognized and standardized around the world. In the coming years, we will be dramatically expanding our online libraries and building more innovative resources, that take advantage of emerging educational technologies for use in Canadian classrooms, at home, and around the world.
Our mission remains to help FSL students develop the sense of the passion we feel for the language and cultures of Francophone communities around the world and provide them with learning opportunities to succeed and understand the rich rewards of staying on their path to fluency. With everything we do, we aim to inspire students to dream in French!
