Tu parles! 1 considers the needs of all types of learners, instructional approaches, lesson design and instructional strategies to help students better speak, understand, read, and write French. Language knowledge is introduced as needed to students in context, where students are given examples of the grammatical constructions and then immediately use the expressions in their communicative activities. Communication is the key goal, not the grammatical form.

Each Unit of On parle ! has two Modules, instead of three

Each Unit of On parle ! has two Modules, instead of three. The resource suits the needs of grade 9 students in your de-streamed classroom, with a simple, predictable flow of activities and additional models. Some reading selections have been shortened and simplified to set all Grade 9 students up for success. Tasks have been simplified with more supportive models for written and oral tasks, using colour codes. As well, yellow colour coded models have been added for support during in-class conversations

• Characters, contexts and the storyline remain the same as in Tu parles ! 1, so that students in a de-streamed grade 9 classroom feel at one in their learning
• Cahier exercises for speaking, reading and writing simplified, and additional models and graphic organizers provided to support students
• On parle ! de la francophonie! sections in each module
• 77 Audio tracks and 18 video sequences (same as those included with Tu parles ! 1)
• Online Teacher Support – lesson plans, assessments, video & audio scripts, reproducible supplementary exercises
• 1 and 3 – Year student and teacher online licences available

A continuation of Tu parles ! 1, Tu parles ! 2 builds on the Grade 9 Core French resource and further develops the French language skills of the Grade 10 student. Engaging scenarios with real students that communicate about real world situations and challenges of the 21st Century. Everyday contexts make learning meaningful to students snce it facilitates communication in realistic and immediately applicable situations.
